This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar storage technologies Vaival uses on vaival.com, what they do, and what choices you have. Read this alongside our Privacy Policy.

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. When you return to the site, the browser sends the cookie back, allowing the site to recognize you, remember preferences, or measure how visitors use the site. Other technologies (local storage, session storage, pixels) can do similar things without strictly being cookies.

This policy uses "cookies" loosely to cover both true cookies and similar storage and tracking technologies.

Vaival's website does not currently use any cookies.

We have made deliberate technical choices to operate without cookies on the public site. Our analytics provider does not set cookies. Our website does not load advertising trackers, social media pixels, behavioral targeting tools, or third-party identifiers. We do not run cross-site tracking of any kind.

If this changes in the future, we will update this page before the change takes effect and, where applicable law requires consent, present a consent mechanism before any non-essential cookie is set.

We use Plausible Analytics to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate. Plausible was chosen specifically because it is privacy-respecting and does not set cookies on your device.

Plausible measures page views, the URL of the page you arrived at, the country your IP address is associated with (not the IP address itself), the device type and browser you used, and the source that referred you to the site. It does not collect any persistent identifier that could re-identify you across visits, sessions, or devices. It does not share data with advertising networks. It does not track you across other websites.

You may see a small banner on your first visit acknowledging that the site uses privacy-respecting analytics. The banner is informational. Clicking "Got it" tells the site you have seen the banner so it does not appear on every page.

The preference that records you saw the banner is stored in your browser's local storage, not as a cookie. Clearing your browser's site storage will reset it; the banner will reappear on your next visit.

If Vaival's site setup changes in a way that introduces cookies or tracking technologies that are not strictly necessary (for example, an embedded video player from a third party, a payment processor on a checkout page, a re-targeting pixel for paid advertising), we will:

• update this Cookie Policy to describe what is added, what it does, who provides it, and how long it persists;
• where applicable law requires consent, present a consent mechanism (opt-in for non-essential cookies for users in jurisdictions where this is required) before the cookie is set;
• where applicable law does not require consent but transparency is best practice, provide a clear notice.

Even though Vaival does not use cookies today, you can configure your browser to block cookies generally, block third-party cookies, prompt you before accepting any cookie, or clear cookies on close. Browser support pages for the major browsers explain the controls available to you:

Blocking cookies will not affect your ability to use vaival.com because the site does not depend on cookies.

Cookie-consent rules vary by jurisdiction. The European Union's ePrivacy Directive and GDPR require explicit consent before non-essential cookies are set. California, the United Arab Emirates, and other jurisdictions have different rules for tracking technologies.

Because Vaival's website does not currently set cookies or use non-essential tracking technologies, no jurisdiction-specific consent mechanism is presented today. If our configuration changes, the consent mechanism will be presented in line with the applicable law where you are located.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. If the change is material (for example, if we introduce a new tracking technology or change the analytics provider), we will highlight the change.
